Cedarlite Industries was founded by John Harrison in Auckland in 1987. What began as a specialist timber joinery business has developed into an award-winning manufacturer of custom timber windows, doors and architectural joinery. Nearly four decades later, Cedarlite remains a family-owned New Zealand business with the same ambition that has guided us from the beginning – to produce some of the best timber joinery in New Zealand.
Our experienced timber joiners combine traditional craftsmanship and an in-depth understanding of timber with modern design systems and state-of-the-art five-axis CNC technology. It gives us the capability to take on everything from finely detailed heritage work to complex contemporary joinery, oversized doors and one-off architectural features.
Award-winning timber craftsmanship
Our work received two major honours at the 2026 Master Joiners Excellence Awards, winning Best Door or Window and Best Creative Use of Timber. The awards reflect the high level of skill, attention to detail and timber expertise that Cedarlite brings to architectural and custom joinery projects. We also won in 2023 for Best Auckland Joinery Company.

Workshop and manufacturing capabilities - Traditional craftsmanship meets modern manufacturing
Our Auckland workshop combines modern five-axis CNC machinery with traditional timber machining and joinery equipment, giving us control over the manufacturing process from raw timber and component machining through to assembly, sanding, glazing and preparation for finishing.
Five-axis CNC technology allows complex, curved, oversized and unusual components to be machined accurately, while the experience of our joiners provides the understanding of timber and hand-finished craftsmanship required to turn those components into quality architectural joinery.
Modern systems also support the way we manage our projects, including cloud-based quoting and project management to help keep information and communication organised throughout the process.
Working with Cedarlite
Cedarlite works directly with homeowners, architects and builders and can become involved as a project develops to help work through design and manufacturing requirements. Cloud-based quoting and project-management systems help us keep project information organised throughout the process.
Based in Auckland, Cedarlite works on projects throughout New Zealand, including Queenstown and Wānaka. For projects outside of Auckland, we can arrange delivery and installation. International enquiries are also welcome, with overseas projects considered according to the design, documentation, freight and individual project requirements.

We use quality sustainable timber, a range of glass options, hardware and sealing systems appropriate to the project, including the Thermawood system for new and suitable retrofit timber joinery.
